Business manager in Oil & Gas Dept

Vibratec is the leader in France in the Noise and Vibration services and is a very know player in the Oil&Gas industry. For 25 years, Vibratec has performed vibration diagnosis on offshore and onshore facilities, all over the world (Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia). Vibratec is also key actor in the design assistance of new oil&gas installation, for noise and vibration issues.

The 3 main aspects of my job are:

Department sales manager

 The key markets are the Oil&Gas offshore and onshore production facilities, the refineries and the petrochemical plants, the LNG terminals,  the gas storage or compression sites .Three types of sucomers can be distinguished   
The Oil Companies (TOTAL, Sonangol, Perenco...) et gas companies ( GDF, TIGF...)
The engineering ( Technip, Saipem, Daewoo, Hyundai...)
The suppliers (pumps, compressors, generators...)

As a sales manager, my role is:
To maintain the relashion with the major customers 
To prospect new customer, in France and abroad
To prepare and present commercial offers
To define the commercial strategy
To participate to internaional fairs
To coordinate and animate the sales activities ( 1 sales assitant and 2 senior sales engineers)
To build the communication materials ( leaflets, web site, presentation supports)

My main success
Turn-over maintained in 2009, in a crisis period ( 1100 k€ )
Turn-over increase in 2010 (1250 k€)
CLOV project award, which is the lmost important contract Vibratec never won, 
Coomercial missions in United Arab Emirates, Brasil and Angola
Definition of a new development strategy, based on an amitious increase of the inernational part
8 to 10 new customers per year

Project Management

The size of the project varies from 10 to 500 k€, a mean value being around 50 k€. The project involve 1 to 4 consultants, which represents 100 to 1500 hours of work. As a project manager, I handle approximately 20 project per year.

In the vibration field, the main types of project I manage are:
Vibration analysis of platform and FSPO modules, from FEED to commissioning through detailed engineering
Troubleshooting on rotating equipment, structures, piping, building
Dynamic behavior of rotating equipment (baseplate analysis, R&D...)
Factory Acceptance Test of machines
Specifications or SOW writing, risk identifications...

In acoustics, the main types of project are:
New facilities study ( comfort in Living Quarter, Human Exposure in the working area, environment impact )
Computed and measured noise cartography (onshore and offshore)
Diagnosis on equipment
String test at suppler test bench

I'm in charge of:
Respect of the cost and delays
On site organisation, mainly abroad
Team management ( technicians, engineers )
Controling the quality of the deliverables
The interface with the client

Head of the engineering department

OROS design and manufacture noise and vibration analyzers. The company, located in the French Alps realizes 80% of its turnover abroad. It was the first company to propose portable multichannels analyzers. This instrument is made of:

a front-ent with 2 to 32 input and 2 to 6 outputs. Real time is insured with  2 to 8 processors and data are stored on an embedded hard-disk 

a software to drive the front -end and handleand treat the data

The functions associated to my position were:

!iterative planning to respect the delays, accurate measurement of the devvelopment team velocity and constant implication of every actors of the project (technical team, salesmen, support)
Quality improvment ( less defaults, correction time shortened) by optimizing the specification processes and using "agile" rules ( refactoring, test-driven development, pair-programming)
Validation phase shortened by 50% by using automated tests and carrying out this activity in parallel of the develompent phase.

Development of an internal software simulating aerodynamic noise of high speed train (280km/h and above).
Collaboration with the Deutsch Bahn to model some sources.
Validation of the model by comparing result to experimental data

Research Engineer

The Marcus Wallenberg Laboratory is one of the leading european  research laboratory in acoutstics. It belongs to the biggest engineer university of scandinavia, KTH (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan).
